Academy Award winner George C. Scott gives “one of his greatest performances ever” the movie also stars Trish Van Devere (THE HEARSE), two-time Oscar winner Melvyn Douglas (THE TENANT) and Jean Marsh (FRENZY) co-star in “one of the most terrifying horror films of all time.” 
7:30 p.m. Makeup artist Jake Jackson discusses everything that goes in even before the filming begins.

1:00 p.m. 21st annual Slash and Bash/ Film Freeway present top three feature films.
2:00 p.m. Slash & Bash Costume Contest sponsored by Roaring Rat Films and presented by Witching Hour Productions
3:15 p.m. Interview with Victoria Price by Keith "The Critic" Van Sickle and Kellee Pratt.
4:30 p.m. Diane Franklin, Jenn Nangle, Devanny Pinn, Kristen Vaganos, Dilynn Fawn Harvey & Julie Anne Prescott - discuss experiences good & bad in the movie business. 
5:30 p.m. Regina Daniels author of the Abandoned Kansas City book series interview with Keith "The Critic" Van Sickle. 
6:00 p.m.  Super Happy Fun Clown (2025) - Directed by Patrick Rea and written by Eric Winkler.

Slash & Bash Horror & SciFi Movie Festival visitors have the opportunity to meet amazing guest stars and directors. Past participants have included Patrick Rea, Todd Sheets, Courtney Gaines, Dee Wallace, Adrienne Barbeau, and the cast from Halloween to name just a few. Our Film Freeway showcase will feature the best horror/sci-first films from around the world.

Slash and Bash Film Awards

 

Film Submission Rules & Terms

Feature film screenings at Slash and Bash are currated but the Slash and Bash Film Showcase is open for submissions.

Criteria for the Slash and Bash short film showcase are as follows:

  • Must be a film  in the horror, sci-fi or related genre.
  • Must not be currently distributed as a part of a larger anthology film.
  • Must be the original material of the filmmaker(s) with all necessary clearances (including music) in place. Filmmaker releases Slash and Bash Film Fest of all liability regarding copyright/intellectual property claims by representing that the work is theirs and that ALL necessary rights have been cleared.
  • Make us scream, make us laugh, shock us, give us nightmares and show us something new!

Slash & Bash Horror and Scifi Film Festival is an opportunity to view horror and sci-fi films already well-known and those created by up and coming stars. Join us!

The film review committee will pick out the top films to be shown at the Topeka Slash and Bash. Keith will award the top 3 in Short and Feature categories.
